Global Afrobeats sensation CKay has officially wrapped up his recording deal with Warner Music South Africa, signaling the close of a pivotal chapter in his musical journey.

The artist, widely recognized for chart-topping singles like “Love Nwantiti” and “Emiliana,” confirmed that the decision to part ways was mutual and intentional.

Reflecting on the departure, CKay stated:

“Every journey has a beginning and an end, and my journey with Warner Music South Africa was a very important one which i’m grateful for. Now it’s time for me to explore new energy and new horizons”.

With over 2 billion global streams to his name and a major role in taking Afrobeats to the world stage, CKay’s next steps are highly anticipated. Close sources indicate that a major update is on the way, with fans expecting a fresh direction and possibly new music soon.

In 2024, the singer launched his independent label, Boyfriend Music Limited, alongside longtime friend and manager, Joseph Salubi. This move hints at a new level of creative control and independence for the artist.

CKay first gained global fame with “Love Nwantiti,” originally released in 2019. The track found international success in 2021, going viral on TikTok and earning an impressive 8x platinum certification by the RIAA in the U.S. It remains the most certified Nigerian song in American music history.

Although he was initially signed to Loopy Music, which later merged with Chocolate City in 2015, CKay clarified in 2021 that he was no longer with Chocolate City and had signed with Warner Music South Africa—a partnership that has now officially ended.

Fans around the globe are eagerly watching to see what the next chapter holds for the Afrobeats star.
