Cassie Ventura is fighting a legal motion filed by Sean “Diddy” Combs’ legal team, which is demanding that she hand over her unpublished tell-all book and financial records.
Diddy, whose trial begins next month, requested “all draft memoirs, autobiographies, narratives, diaries, journals or notes … and any communications about plans to publish or threaten to publish such a document.”
According to Diddy, Cassie told the disgraced mogul that she had written a book about their time together and had tried to sell it to him for $30 million before eventually filing a civil suit against him, which he settled for an undisclosed amount.
The disgraced mogul is also fighting to get the video of him beating Cassie in a hotel hallway back in 2016 dismissed from the evidence. He accuses CNN of altering the video.
“CNN never altered the video and did not destroy the original copy of the footage, which was retained by the source. CNN aired the story about the video several months before Combs was arrested,” the news outlet said in a statement.
Diddy is facing federal sex trafficking and racketeering charges and has pleaded not guilty to five criminal counts, including allegations of using his business empire to exploit women over two decades. He is being housed in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center and denies all allegations against him.
