A former governorship aspirant in Anambra and a critical stakeholder in APC, Chief Donatus Okonkwo, has congratulated the Chairman of SNECOU Group, Sen. Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, better known as Ikuku Oma, on his emergence as the APC governorship candidate for the Anambra governorship election.
Prince Ukachukwu, a renowned businessman and former member of the Nigerian Senate, will slug it out with candidates of other parties in the November election, including the incumbent governor, Chukwuma Charles Soludo, of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Chief Okonkwo, in a message on Wednesday, expressed optimism that the candidacy of Sen. Ukachukwu will usher in renewed hope to the people of Anambra and bring about impactful change in the lives of the people.
“Your emergence is a testament to your unwavering commitment to the progress of Anambra State and the trust the party faithful have in your leadership. We are confident that your vision, experience, and passion for development will bring transformative change to our beloved state,” he stated.
Chief Okonkwo, a close ally of Sen. Ukachukwu, assured him of his steadfast support as preparations commence ahead of the election, expressing hope that APC will secure its first governorship victory in Anambra this year.
“Once again, congratulations, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu Ikuku Oma! Anambra State is ready for a new dawn under your leadership,” it stated.
Chief Okonkwo, a power broker and the CEO of Tettrazzini Group, is expected to host the marriage ceremony of his son in Lagos in the coming days, where the high and mighty will converge.
Sources told our correspondent that at least two African Presidents and ten Governors from across Nigeria are expected.
The marriage introduction had held in a colourful ceremony in Item, Bende Local Government Area of Abia State recently, where culture met love, affluence, and riches. Chief Okonkwo, father of the groom, had, among other things, paid seven gold coins in dowry for his son’s heartthrob.
Recall he recently bagged the Businessman of the Year at the Anambra Man of the Year Award (AMTY) held in Anambra.
