Adeleke, Osun commissioners, others not dumping PDP – Official

In a unanimous voice, the Osun State Executive Council has expressed its total solidarity and unwavering support to the Governor of Osun State and leader of the state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ademola Adeleke, vowing not to abandon him ahead of the 2026 gubernatorial poll.

The cabinet members, including Commissioners and Special Advisers, also declared their readiness to stand solidly “like a rock of Gibraltar” behind Governor Adeleke in his undying quest to take Osun to greater heights.”

While also pledging their unalloyed loyalty to the ruling party in the state, the PDP, under the leadership of Sunday Bisi, the Osun Executive members denied plans to switch allegiance to another party.

They emphasised that “no amount of the usual political shenanigans by the opposition party members will be enough to derail the good intention of the Governor for the people as exemplified by Senator Adeleke.”

Reading the text of the press briefing on behalf of the Forum of Commissioners and Forum of SAs, Dosu Babatunde, Secretary of the Commissioners’ Forum, asked the people of the state to disregard the insinuation that they are ditching the governor and the PDP for another political party ahead of the 2026 governorship election.

“Your Excellency, Mr Governor, we are using this opportunity to further affirm and reaffirm our love and unshakeable solidarity to you and your administration in Osun State,” they said.

“We read and heard with great consternation the many insinuations being mischievously bandied about in certain political quarters, particularly the opposition parties, about the looming mass defection of the Executive Council members from the ruling PDP to another political party.

“This is not only a political fallacy taken to the extreme but a careless and unguarded insinuation by the usual disgruntled members of the opposition party in the state.

“To this end, we are using this opportunity to state and reaffirm, again and again, that no amount of political gerrymandering as being currently hatched by the opposition party members in the state will make us be a party to destroying a house (PDP) which we fought tooth and nail to build.”
