Israel DMW, an aide to music star Davido, has called on the Governor of Edo State, Okpebholo, to resign with immediate effect.
In an Instagram post, the Edo-born star noted that the state hasn’t had peace since he took over. He revealed that the ancestors were angry with him over the pure robbery in the state.
Israel urged him to hand over to his opponent, Asue Ighadalo, who he believes the most Edolites voted for as their Governor.
“Edo 2024. My dear Governor Okpebholo. I want to specially beg and advise that you resign and immediately hand over to Asue Ighodalo, who the majority of we elites truly voted as our governor, sir. The entire state has not had one single peace since you took over, sir. The ANCESTORS are fully angry with the pure robbery that took place. Some Heads are too very strong to be cheated. Some robberies sometimes don’t get successful. We know you have connections to cover everything, sir. We know the real truth of what transpired would come out many years later, like June 12, sir. Thank you, sir”.

Last year, during the Edo State gubernatorial election, Davido questioned the police directive for Edo citizens, telling them to return home immediately after casting their votes. He declared the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) the most dangerous institution in Nigeria and admonished Edo indigenes not to bow to it.
Explaining to those who queried him for interfering in the election, he revealed that his mother is from Edo and, as such, he was interested in the election. He also knocked INEC, calling them a shame as he prayed for God to help the citizens.
Tackling him, Cynthia Morgan, who also hails from Edo State, noted how he claims his mother is from Edo State, yet she has never seen him visit his family house, nor has he mentioned the village or family she is from. She begged him to leave Edo people alone and made him know that he wasn’t from Edo, and neither did he know the struggle of an average Edo man or woman.
