
Several terrorists have been killed during airstrike operations conducted by the Nigerian Air Force under the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (AC OPHK).
Group Captain Kabiru Ali, the Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information for NAF said the AC OPHK executed on the criminal’s enclave in the North of Chiralia – within the notorious Timbuktu Triangle.
Ali said during the operation which took place over the weekend, several terrorist fighters were killed while three gun trucks belonging to the criminals were destroyed.
He said that the attack on the criminal hideout followed intelligence from ground troops after they had successfully tracked the trucks moving from Sabon Gari toward Chiralia.
Ali said, “With precision and lethality, the NAF aircraft engaged the targets, unleashing rockets and cannons that obliterated 2 of the vehicles. As the insurgents attempted to reposition the third gun truck, a follow-up strike was executed, destroying it completely. The overwhelming firepower set all targeted vehicles ablaze, while scores of terrorists attempting to flee were neutralized in the aftermath.”
He added NAF is committed to dismantling terrorist networks across the nation and ending terrorism by continuing its support to the ground troops.
