A high-speed crash involving a Flight Transport Company bus has resulted in multiple fatalities on the Abuja-Makurdi Highway.
The accident, which occurred on Thursday, left several dead and many others injured.
In a video obtained by SaharaReporters, the lifeless bodies of at least seven passengers were seen sprawled across the road as bystanders wailed in distress.
Many of the victims, including men and women, lay motionless on the road.
A witness in the video could be heard lamenting about the reckless speed of the bus driver before the tragic accident occurred.
“When this driver overtook us, I was complaining about his speed. This Flight Bus, I was complaining. Just look at it. I was complaining about the speed of this very driver,” the narrator in the video said.

The crash has sparked fresh outrage among road users and concerned citizens, with many taking to social media to condemn the continuous recklessness of Flight Transport Company drivers.
A popular Facebook user, Oba Ogede, reacting to the crash, wrote: “Flight Bus again. Please check on your loved ones traveling Abuja/Makurdi. Why always Flight? Accident Flight. Arrogant drivers Flight Bus. Why always them?”
This latest fatal crash comes barely a month after at least 30 people lost their lives in a similar accident involving a bus from the same Flight Transport Company along the Ore-Lagos Expressway in Ondo State.
That incident, confirmed by the state Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Dr. Samuel Ibitoye, occurred at Onipetesi in Odigbo Local Government Area.
According to official reports, two commercial buses collided and ignited a devastating fire, burning 28 passengers beyond recognition on the spot. Two others succumbed to injuries while being rushed to the hospital, bringing the total death toll to 30.
The FRSC’s preliminary report also revealed that reckless driving was a major cause of the disaster.
The GUO Transport Company bus involved in the crash was said to have been driving against traffic before colliding with the Flight Transport Company bus, which was heading to Lagos from Gboko, Benue State.
“The two buses were speeding against the dictates of road traffic rules and regulations, while the GUO Transport Company bus coming from Lagos drove against the traffic to cause the terrible crash,” the FRSC report stated.
The remains of the victims from the Ore-Lagos Expressway accident were deposited at the General Hospital in Ore, while the two survivors were left to battle for their lives at Olaoluwa Medical Clinic in Odigbo.
