Rivers: Fire Outbreak Hits Port Harcourt Refinery

A fire outbreak has occurred at a section of the Port Harcourt refinery in Rivers State.

The revelation was made on Wednesday by the National President of Petroleum Retailers Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria, Billy Gillis-Harry.

According to him, the fire was contained in less than 5 minutes after it broke out.

“Yes, it is true that there was a fire outbreak in the Port Harcourt refinery, but it was contained in 5 minutes,” Gillis-Harry told DAILY.

This comes hours after two explosions hit pipeline Manifold and Trans-Niger Pipeline in the Omwawriwa axis of the Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local and Bodo-Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Recall that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, citing unresolved crisis and insecurity in Rivers, declared a state of emergency in Rivers State.
