Rivers Crisis: Fubara Surrounds Himself With Those Who Wanted To Be Governor — Wike

Nyesom Wike

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, has said that Governor of Rivers State Simi Fubara surrounds himself with those he wants to be governor of the state.

The Minister made the claims while addressing a large number of Kalabari people at a grand reception in Rivers State on Saturday.

He faulted Fubara’s political allies, describing their advice to him as ‘bad’.

“You (Fubara) surrounded yourself with people who wanted to be governor, whom I said ‘no, these people don’t mean well for Rivers State.’ They are the ones surrounding you, giving you advice. Do you think you will succeed? They will give bad advice, and look at what bad advice is doing to you. You are already down 2-0, and there’s more to come.”

Recall that Wike earlier alleged that Fubara was not an Ijaw man.

The latest outburst against Fubara followed his recent budget presentation letter to the Martins Amaewhule’s led Rivers House of Assembly.

However, the House on Friday declared an indefinite recess.

Recall that weeks ago, the Supreme Court, in a judgement delivered by Justice Emmanuel Akomaye Agim, ordered the 27 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to resume functions immediately.
