President Tinubu appoints CMDs for 6 federal hospitals [FULL LIST]

The presidency on Friday, March 7, announced the appointment of Chief Medical Directors for six different federal government-owned hospitals across Nigeria.

A statement by Bayo Onanuga, the president’s special adviser on information and strategy said the appointment of the CMDs was made by President Bola Tinubu.

Onanuga said, “All appointments are for four years, effective from the respective dates of assumption of office.”

Below is a list of federal hospitals with the newly appointed CMDs

1 Federal Teaching Hospital, Akure, Ondo State – Professor Olusegun Ojo

2 Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe – Professor Yusuf Abdullahi

3 Federal Teaching Hospital, Azare, Bauchi State – Dr. Dauda Katagum confirmed as the substantive CMD.

4 Federal Teaching Hospital in Lafia, Nasarawa State – Dr. Ikrama Hassan

5 National Orthopedic Hospital in Maiduguri, Borno State – Dr. Ali Ramat

6 Federal Medical Centre, Kafanchan, Kaduna State – Dr Haruna Shehu

Onanuga explained that while Abdullahi’s second and final term as CMD of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe, commenced on September 5, 2024, Katagum’s tenure at the Federal University of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital, Azare, Bauchi State, took effect from December 6, 2024.
