A devastating vehicle explosion on the Keffi-Kugbo road in Abuja has left multiple casualties in need of immediate blood transfusions. In response, the National Blood Service Agency (NBSA) has issued an urgent appeal for blood donations from Nigerians, particularly residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Director General of NBSA, Prof. Saleh Yuguda, emphasized that hospitals and emergency response teams are working tirelessly to save lives, but an adequate blood supply is crucial to their efforts. Yuguda urged all eligible donors to visit designated blood donation centers and hospitals across the FCT to make voluntary blood donations.

A statement signed by Prof. Saleh Yuguda on Thursday in Abuja urged Nigerians to help save more lives, as many of the casualties currently in hospitals within the FCT and surrounding areas require urgent blood transfusions.

The statement reads: The devastating incident has resulted in multiple casualties, many of whom require immediate blood transfusions. Hospitals and emergency response teams are working tirelessly to save lives, but an adequate blood supply is crucial to their efforts.

We urge all eligible donors to visit designated blood donation centers and hospitals across the FCT to make voluntary blood donations. Your generosity can mean the difference between life and death for those in critical condition.

To facilitate the donation process, the NBSA has provided contact information for inquiries and directions to the nearest donation centers:

Address: 39 Abidjan Street, Wuse Zone

Phone: 07088370905 By donating blood, individuals can make a life-saving difference for those in critical condition.
