Joe Rogan Was Called Out For Accepting ‘Hateful’ Talk By A Successful Comedian And Sitcom Star

Since Joe Rogan’s podcast has many listeners, he is so rich that he turned down $100 million, and he gets to interview huge stars. However, Joe being under such a bright spotlight has resulted in fans questioning if he was “insincere,” and in him being called “genuinely embarrassing.” Not only that, there have also been headlines about Joe feuding with celebrities and about when he called out Conan O’Brien.

Looking at the pressure Joe is under from fans and observers, it is stunning to realize that he has also been criticized by other celebrities. For example, a successful comedian and sitcom star publicly denounced Joe for supporting “hateful” comments a guest on his podcast made.

Chelsea Peretti Called Out Joe Rogan For Accepting “Hateful” Behavior From His Guest

After launching her career as a writer and comedian, Chelsea Peretti went on to launch a career as an actor. In addition to a slew of short-term roles in other shows, Chelsea rose to fame when she was cast in Brooklyn Nine-Nine as Gina Linetti.

Highly memorable for being the most colorful cast member on a show full of fascinating characters, Chelsea had a big impact on audiences. As a result, Chelsea remains a major part of the show’s legacy even though she left the sitcom much earlier than her co-stars.

After starring in one of the best sitcoms of the modern era for years, Chelsea accumulated many fans. As a result, it was remarkable when Chelsea called Joe out for accepting behavior from one of his guests that she found to be “hateful.”

In June 2020, Chelsea posted a thread on X/Twitter in response to a clip of Joey Diaz from 2011 when he appeared on “The Joe Rogan Experience.” At that time, the clip of Joe and Joey was going viral and being heavily criticized.

Chelsea’s Twitter thread began with her calling our Joe Rogan for not telling Joey Diaz to stop when he was making offensive comments on the podcast.

“If you’re a male comedian one thing you can do is tell men to shut the f*** up when they are saying hateful s*** about women and not go on podcasts that are racist and sexist. You can also speak up for women getting attacked online for sticking up for themselves. Or … total silence.”

A Showbiz Cheat Sheet article from June 2020 shows what the comments from “The Joe Rogan Experience” were that upset Chelsea so much.

Experts Say Joe Rogan’s Diet Can Cause ‘Painful’ Kidney Stones And More

According to experts, fans should be weary of Joe Rogan’s diet, since it can cause ‘painful’ kidney stones and that’s not all.

According to Showbiz Cheat Sheet, Joey joked about forcing female comedians to do things against their will. During his 2011 appearance on “The Joe Rogan Experience,” Joey joked that female comedians who wanted him to give them stage time had to be intimately involved with him.

The following quote from Joey Diaz may be traumatic for some observers to read.

“You think I’m f****** kidding you? F*** yeah, you gotta s*** my d*** to get up in The Belly Room. I’m makin’ a call for you. That’s the f****** gateway for coming into Hollywood. Everybody knows that.”

As Chelsea’s X/Twitter thread that responded to Joe and Joey’s discussion continued, she reflected on her own experiences as a comedian.

First off, Chelsea wrote that she knew what it was like to be the only woman backstage during a stand-up comedy show. From there, Chelsea wrote that she co-created her own stand-up show so she could spend more time with other female comedians who were her friends.

“And let me be clear *liberal* comedians in ny in the “alt comedy” rooms only had 1 woman on each show and that is why I started Variety Shac with 3 friends bc we never got to hang out together after shows like the guys bc we were all isolated as the 1 spot”

As her thread continued, Chelsea continued to react to Joe and Joey joking about how female comedians are treated.

To elaborate on what female comedians put up with, Chelsea asked men to reflect on what it would be like if the roles were reversed.

“And I often wonder if the guys who love comedy so much wud love it if when they went to do sets every night it was 20 women and 1 guy on the show”

Finally, Chelsea finished her thread by bringing up claims that female comedians aren’t funny. It made sense since Joey’s jokes seemingly implied that female comedians had to earn stage time since they weren’t funny enough to get it based on that alone.

“I’ve been told women arent funny since day 1 of comedy, in backhanded compliments after shows, on youtube comments, twitter, facebook, airplane sky writing for my birthday… ✨🥰

Once I did a set on Aziz show at Largo and unbeknownst to me it was his showcase for some movie producers. A comedian told me a producer got up & left when I got onstage & said “female comedians arent funny” its always been fun and encouraging! 🥰🥰🥰”

Joey Diaz And Joe Rogan Reacted To The Backlash To Their Podcast Discussion

For many years, it seemed like virtually all celebrities who got called out would react by issuing a public apology. However, if Chelsea Peretti expected Joey Diaz or Joe Rogan to react that way to her X/Twitter thread, she had another thing coming. Instead, both male comedians reacted in defiance of the criticism they were facing.
