Easily the most famous radio show host of his generation, Howard Stern’s revolting past made him extremely wealthy. A former shock jock, Howard’s ability to get stars to make stunning confessions has resulted in him hurting a star and a celebrity resenting him for years. Considering that Howard has done horrible things and conducted creepy interviews, it makes sense that he once admitted worrying that he’d be labeled a “scumbag.”
Even though Howard once instructed Joe Rogan on how to apologize to the world, the radio host often avoids saying sorry. That is a shame since his comments once inspired an Oscar-nominated actress to dismiss him and state that he “doesn’t matter.”

Howard Stern had a shockingly uncomfortable interview about a shocking scandal that also was one of his best.
The 82nd Academy Awards were held on March 7, 2010. As a March 2010 article from The Daily Telegraph shows, Howard reacted to Gabourey’s role at that awards show at that time.
At the 2010 Academy Awards, Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire was nominated for an impressive six awards. On top of being nominated for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actress, the movie won Best Adapted Screenplay and Mo’Nique won Best Supporting Actress for her work in the film.
During an episode of his radio show, Howard spoke about Gabourey but instead of stating her name, he described her derisively. Howard then stated that Gabourey would never work as an actor again and that everyone was only pretending she was a part of the Hollywood community.
“There’s the most enormous, fat black chick I’ve ever seen. She is enormous. Everyone’s pretending she’s a part of show business and she’s never going to be in another movie.”
While continuing to discuss Gabourey, Howard questioned if it was even possible for Gabourey to ever appear in a movie again.
Despite Howard Stern deciding Gabourey Sidibe’s acting career was over after Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire, she has continued to work ever since. In September 2020, Collider even published an article about how Gabourey had been “carving her own path” through Hollywood after her initial rise to fame.
As a result of the radio host deciding her acting career was over, Howard argued that Gabourey should have won the Oscar as some kind of charitable act.
“She should have gotten the best actress award because she’s never going to have another shot. What movie is she gonna be in?”
Based on all of Howard’s remarks about her, it is easy to see why Gabourey may have been upset by his remarks.

First off, The Daily Telegraph’s aforementioned article shows that Howard addressed the comment that he made about the Oscar-nominated actor’s weight.
The following two paragraphs will address the subject of self-harm.
While talking about his comments, Howard compared Gabourey’s weight to Artie Lange trying to take his own life.
“Like, I kind of don’t see a difference between what our Artie did — Artie tried to k*** himself. And I feel this girl, in a slower way … she’s gonna k*** herself.”
Howard then went on to claim that people like Oprah Winfrey were the ones who were being cruel to Gabourey by lying to her. Sadly, The Daily Telegraph quotes Howard expressing his belief that Gabourey’s career was over in an extremely insulting way.
“Oprah’s another liar, a filthy liar. She’s telling an enormous woman the size of a planet that she’s going to have a career.”
Of course, Howard turned out to be wrong, since Gabourey has had a solid career as an actor for more than 15 years now.
