Howard Stern Had A Usually Unapologetic And Legendary Star Plead For His Forgiveness

Even though Howard Stern has been accused of being a “terrible interviewer,” he has become extremely rich and gained celebrity friends. However, Howard’s interactions with famous people have been very negative at times, including the time his interview “hurt” a celebrity years after he became a success as a shock jock. On top of tricking stars into making confessions, Howard has made a celebrity mad for years and had a legend threaten to sue him.

Some of Howard’s celebrity reactions have also made the celebrated radio host upset too. For example, similar to Howard telling Joe Rogan to apologize, a legendary star once pleaded with the radio host to forgive them.

Jerry Seinfeld Publicly Pleaded With Howard Stern To Accept His Apology

After co-creating, producing, and starring in one of the greatest sitcoms ever, Jerry Seinfeld became a comedy superstar. Jerry has used that popularity, his incredible work ethic, and his comedy skills to be a successful touring comedian for decades now.

As a result of all his success, Jerry has become wealthy enough that he never has to care about working again. Likely because of that and simply because of his personality, Jerry has repeatedly shown that he typically is unapologetic.

In fact, since there are endless clips of Jerry confronting people, it has been extremely clear that he wouldn’t apologize lightly. With that in mind, it is fascinating that Jerry once pleaded publicly for Howard Stern to accept his apology.

In May 2024, Jerry Seinfeld released a statement to Entertainment Weekly that the outlet published in an article.

“Howard is interesting. Howard is a great interviewer, but, you know, comedy chops. I mean, can we speak candidly? They’re all great. But, let’s be honest. He’s been outflanked.”

As a part of Jerry’s statement to Entertainment Weekly, he began by trying to explain the comments he made during the podcast appearance.

Widely regarded as one of the most successful radio show hosts of all-time, Howard Stern has garnered a lot of controversy and respect during his career. Thanks to everything he accomplished during his life, The Radio Hall of Fame’s website states that Howard was inducted in 2012.

The first part of Jerry’s Entertainment Weekly statement tried to express that the comedian misspoke while talking about Howard during the podcast appearance.

“I really feel bad for what I said about my friend Howard Stern in a conversation with David Spade and Dana Carvey, talking about the glut of comedy podcasts. I meant to say he must feel surrounded but I said ‘outflanked’ which sounded terrible and insulting.”

From there, Jerry’s statement brought up the state of Howard’s career at that time.

“This comedy podcast, this is the best one on the air. Because you guys play nice together, it’s smooth, you’re not jumping on each other, which is annoying to listen to.”
