The governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has said the memories of Doyin Okupe, a former presidential aide will endure in the lives of those who he touched.
Sanwo-Olu while speaking at the service of songs organised by the Okupe family said the former Director General of the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Organisation left a remarkable legacy.
In a post made on his X account, the Lagos State governor expressed his condolence to the family and close associates of Okupe.
He wrote, “Today, I attended the Service of Songs for the late Dr. Doyin Okupe-Agbonmagbe.
“Dr. Okupe, who served as President Olusegun Obasanjo’s special assistant on media and publicity and later as President Goodluck Jonathan’s senior special assistant on public affairs, leaves behind a remarkable legacy,” Sanwo-Olu said.
Further stating that Okupe was not just a politician, Sanwo-Olu said the former presidential aide was a true gentleman.
He also described the late Okupe as a distinguished Nigerian who was committed to the development of Nigeria.
He added, “His life embodied dedication and service to humanity, touching countless lives.
“On behalf of the government and the people of Lagos State, I express my condolences to the family as you mourn the loss of your father, Dr. Doyin Okupe-Agbonmagbe.
“His memory will surely endure in the lives he touched and the principles he stood for,” Sanwo-Olu said.
