During Deal or No Deal Island Season 2, reality show fans learned it is one of Peacock’s best shows for one main reason. DONDI is a must-see show because it has a stellar cast, including Joe Manganiello, who is a great host, and the hilarious Seychelle Cordero. The show has also been buoyed due to Dr. Will Kirby’s hilarious scenes which have boosted ratings and his “Golden Gods” feud with David Genat.
Fortunately for viewers, Deal or No Deal Island also features the Survivor Hall of Famer Parvati Shallow, who has also feuded with Dr. Will. Since Parvati is a reality show legend, it is fascinating to learn what Phillip Solomon exclusively told TheThings about his complicated relationship with her.

Deal Or No Deal Island’s La Shell Wooten exclusively told TheThings how a twist ruined her game that was going so well.
While the show made it clear that Phillip was bothered by Parvati’s statement, it seemed like there might be more to the story. During his exclusive TheThings interview, Phillip explained the backstory of why Parvati’s statement bothered him so much.
While speaking exclusively to TheThings, Phillip Solomon gave extremely revealing context to the memorable moment he was freaked out by iguanas. “The warning we got before we went in there was, ‘We tested these iguanas to make sure that they’re clean and it shouldn’t have anything. But if you get scratched or bitten, we are going to have to pull you out for medical attention.’ I was just like ‘What? Excuse me. What?’ We tested them to make sure that they’re clean, but If they bite or scratch you, we’re gonna have to evacuate you immediately. And they just and everyone else was like, ‘Okay. Cool.’ I was like, ‘Excuse me.'”
First off, Phillip perfectly explained that he and Parvati had built a personal bond before things fell apart.
“So, just to give you some background information on it, Parvati and I never made a final two. We never even made an alliance. If you go back to, like, episode number one, whenever we talk to one another, it is about personal things. We connected when we met on day one.”
Throughout Parvati’s reality show career, she has been known for her ability to connect with people. Even with that in mind, it is important to note that Phillip exclusively told TheThings what made his connection with Parvati special.
While speaking exclusively to TheThings, Phillip Solomon explained why competing on DONDI was “the greatest experience” of his life. “I got to overcome my fear of heights and water and iguanas and really interacting with these reality TV celebrities, these people that have been in the game for ten years, fifteen years, twenty years. I was in the game for fourteen days, and I held my own until the last possible second. And I got to leave with $75,000. I’ve had a bad day. That was not a bad day.”
As Phillip explained to TheThings, he and Parvati were able to bond over both of them being in a similar place in their lives.
“We were around the same age, and it’s because we’re both kind of restarting adulthood. It’s what I like to call puberty part two. As an adult, you’re like, ‘No. I have the years and age under me. But some big left turn, right turn has made me start all over again.’
So she is navigating being a single mother post-public marriage, post-public divorce, coming out, having a partner who is non-binary. It’s a whole situation. For me, I just left the classroom after twelve years. So, I don’t know who I am anymore as an adult. So, even though we have the years, the job, the experience, it’s almost like, ‘How do we become adults right now?’ When we would have these discussions about our past, our history, who we were, who we are, who we wanna be. It never involved the game. So we were never really partners. We were just friends. And we had always had those conversations off-camera. “
After explaining his background with Parvati, Phillip went on to address why her comment about Dr. Will made him feel so upset.

Exclusive: Deal Or No Deal Island’s Dickson Wong Revealed Why He Had The Hardest Role In ‘The Family’ Alliance
Deal or No Deal Island’s Dickson Wong exclusively tells TheThings why being in “The Family” was harder for him than his allies.
While speaking exclusively to TheThings, Phillip explained why he reacted emotionally to Parvati suddenly using his comments and past against him in the game.
So when you see her try and use that on-camera to get Dr. Will off, that’s why I was like, ‘Woah. Woah. Woah. Is that how we’re doing it now?
One of the reasons why Phillip is a special reality show star is his emotional intelligence. A perfect example of that is the fact that Phillip exclusively told TheThings that veteran players like Parvati have an advantage in terms of dealing with the game becoming personal.
“I think that one of the bigger advantages that people don’t talk about enough in the game is that although the celebrities do have a physical advantage. After being on a microphone and camera for ten years, fifteen years, Doctor Will, twenty years. They also have an emotional advantage as well.
You can say things to them and they don’t take it personally because they’ve had people say awful things about them online or even, like, in the situation, in the game that they’re in. The civilians don’t have that. And so it’s so weird to think, like, as from just a civilian to another civilian, very often people don’t throw your personal struggles or your parents’ divorce or your dog that died when you were six. No one’s throwing that at you anymore because that’s just not how adulthood works. So you see me have that big visceral reaction because it’s such an odd thing to do.”
Phillip finished explaining his emotional reaction to Parvati’s comment by elaborating on what felt wrong at that moment. As Phillip exclusively explained to TheThings, Parvati’s Dr. Will comment felt disingenuous because of the context.
“Only because I knew that Parvati’s goal was to get Dr. Will out. She could have mentioned [my past to] me all day. That’s fine. But, it’s like saying ‘You need to help me get Dr Will out because it would really be like getting revenge on the kids that used to make fun of you in middle school.’ Then I was like, ‘Okay. Ew. Ew. Ick. Ick. And I’m like, ‘Oh, there we go. And that’s gross. When you see it in my head, because it went right along with, ‘And that’s why we have to take Dr. Will out of the game. ‘I’m like, oh, you’re using it for that? I was like, yeah. ‘No. Okay. I’m out.'”
Phillip Solomon And Parvati Shallow Made Up During The Game
During Deal or No Deal Island Season 2, it seemed like Phillip Solomon and Parvati Shallow never made amends. There was one scene that involved Parvati and Phillip talking about the situation that ended with him walking away after calling her out. Parvati was then shown in a confessional interview suggesting that Phillip refused to make peace with her just before a challenge as part of an attempt to manipulate her. That scene made it seem like Phillip and Parvati finished the game as estranged as they’d ever been. However, it turns out that they actually made peace.
