Elliott Wilson Reacts to Tory Lanez’s ‘Peterson’ Prison Drop… “I Just Want You to Serve Your Time”

Tory Lanez dropped his new album ‘Peterson’ last week, which was recorded in prison, but according to journalist Elliott Wilson, it’s not cool to drop music while you’re supposed to be paying your debt to society.

“I think the purpose of jail is that you should disappear. If you’re in jail, I don’t like you having a presence in the– you should go sit down,” he said.

Wilson says the time should be used to “reflect.”

Lanez was sentenced to 10 years in prison in August 2023 after being convicted of three felony charges related to the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion.

He has maintained his innocence and is still trying to appeal his sentence.

“That’s the whole point, right? Rehabilitation,” Wilson added. “I’m not part of your rollout. Not specific to him…I just don’t like the world where it’s like– I hate incarceration in general, but I also think that the idea that you’re now still part of this vibing society. It’s like, ‘no you were told to sit down. Deal with that.’ What’s gonna happen? I don’t want none of that, I don’t want none of your participation in current culture. I want you to just serve your time. Is that wrong?”
