Because of the high-profile nature of the case, the judge has recently granted Blake his request for a protective order. Both Blake and Justin have released statements responding to the judge’s decision, but the case is far from being resolved.
Blake Lively’s Request For A Protective Order
In February, Blake Lively’s legal team requested “additional protections” for the actress amid the complicated legal battle. She expressed the need to have court documents protected, as she and her team believe her celebrity status makes her vulnerable.
“As detailed in Ms. Lively’s Amended Complaint, Ms. Lively, her family, other members of the cast, various fact witnesses, and individuals that have spoken out publicly in support of Ms. Lively have received violent, profane, sexist, and threatening communications.”

Less than a month after Blake submitted her request for a modified protective order, the judge granted it to her, agreeing that she needed the extra protection given how prone to gossip the situation is. Certain court documents are now designated “Attorneys’ Eyes Only,” as the judge acknowledges that the documents might be leaked.
“And where confidential information is not disclosed to the media, it may spread by gossip and innuendo to those in the tight artistic community in a position to do harm to one or the other of the parties but in a manner that might not be readily and immediately detected.”

Following the news that the protection order had been granted, both Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively’s teams have released statements in reaction.
“Today, the Court rejected the Wayfarer Parties’ objections and entered the protections needed to ensure the free flow of discovery material without any risk of witness intimidation or harm to any individual’s security,” Blake’s team said.
“With this order in place, Ms. Lively will move forward in the discovery process to obtain even more of the evidence that will prove her claims in court.”

Ryan and Blake already share four daughters, but the actress is talking about making even more babies.
Justin Baldoni’s team, in turn, released a statement of their own, surprisingly also celebrating the new developments.
“We are fully in agreement with the Court’s decision to provide a narrow scope of protections to categories such as private mental health records and personal security measures that have never been of interest to us,” they said, “as opposed to Ms. Lively’s exceedingly overbroad demand for documents for a 2.5-year period of time, which the court rightly quashed.”
“We remain focused on the necessary communications that will directly contradict Ms. Lively’s unfounded accusations.”
It will likely be a while until the case reaches a resolution, but the fact that both parties agree with the latest developments is probably a good sign.
