Following the move by the government of Anambra State to fight criminality in the state, native doctors in the Southeast state have resorted to taking oaths to end unethical conduct by colleagues.
The native doctors under the aegis of Odinala Orumba South also warned that henceforth, any of their members involved with criminality or giving spiritual coverage to criminals would be made to face the consequence.
Chairman of the Odinala Orumba South, Christian Umeh, who spoke at the oath-taking ceremony said that the association has resolved to ostracise any native doctor caught engaging in unethical activities.
Umeh stated that the association’s leadership and its members are committed to the Governor Chukwuma Soludo administration’s move to end criminal activities like producing charms popularly known as Okite for kidnappers and armed robbers in the state.
He said, “We decided to embark on the oath-taking measure to signify our commitment to maintaining ethical practices and removing any members who act unethically.
“It is also to ensure that those sent out to fish out evil native doctors will not be compromised,” Umeh said.
