In Season 6, Episode 6 of The Kardashians, Kim Kardashian and Khloé Kardashian head to India to celebrate the wedding of the Ambani family, which was nothing short of extravagant. Kim reflected on her own marriages in the episode, specifically, the engagement rings she wore from each of her three failed marriages.
Yes, Kim was married three times to those who don’t know. The reality TV star was only 19-years-old when he married Damon Thomas. Her second marriage to former NBA player Kris Humphries would only last 72 days, and her third marriage was to controversial rapper, Kanye “Ye” West.

When Kim Kardashian looked back at her previous engagement rings on The Kardashians, the Skims founder revealed that she still owned the ring given to her by her first husband, music producer, Damon Thomas.
“I still have it,” she tells her sister, Khloé. Detailing the ring, Kim states, “Number one was a cushion cut, 14-karat.” While photos of Kim’s ring are hard to find online, surely it was something worth keeping. However, her marriage to Damon might be something she may have wished never happened.
In a 2018 episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kim admitted that she was on ecstasy when she married Damon at just 19-years-old. Damon was 10 years her senior when they made it official in 2000.
“I got married on ecstasy. I did ecstasy once and I got married, I did it again and I made a sex tape [with ex-boyfriend Ray J]. Like everything bad would happen.”
The former couple’s divorce was finalized in 2004. In a March episode of The Kardashians, Kim revealed that Khloé Kardashian helped her financially when she split from Damon.
“When I was getting my first divorce, I moved out and I had no money. She gave me her life savings,” Kim shared.

Kim Kardashian’s ring from her marriage to Kris Humphries was stunning and massive. When the former NBA player proposed to the Skims founder in her Beverly Hills home with rose petals that read, “Will You Marry Me?” Kris presented Kim with a 16.2-carat emerald-cut diamond ring framed by two smaller 1.8-carat square diamonds on each side. The ring was worth $2 million and was created by famed celebrity jeweler Lorraine Schwartz.
However, Kim revealed in the same The Kardashians’ episode that she paid for the majority of the $2 million engagement ring. “He contributed a fifth [of the price],” she shared.
Kim and Kris would famously end their marriage after 72 days in 2011. The businesswoman also stated that she even had to give back the ring to Kris.
“I didn’t keep that. I was pregnant with [daughter] North [West], still married to him, and in order to divorce him, he said I had to give him the ring in my divorce.”
In 2019, Kris auctioned off the engagement ring at Christie’s, in New York. It sold for $749,000, which seemed staggeringly low. Lawyer Lee Hutton told The Daily News about the iconic sale, with the winnings going to a charity of Kris’ choice. “Kris is not losing money on the ring.”
“It was something that was a part of the divorce, the dissolution agreement. Kris is pleased with the outcome of the sale and the fact he can give a portion of the proceeds to a deserving charity. He’s in the process of selecting the charity now,” Lee added.
In the episode, Kim shared that she would have loved to keep her prior engagement ring as part of “a collection.” It seems that Kim may not have been informed about the auction, or she would have certainly jumped at the chance.

Kanye West, also known as “Ye,” famously proposed to Kim in front of family and friends at AT&T Park in San Francisco, which was also taped for Keeping Up With the Kardashians in 2013. The rapper gave Kim a 15-carat cushion-cut diamond ring with a band of micro-pavé of diamonds, that was also designed by Lorriane Schwartz, who described it as the “perfect cushion-cut diamond.” The ring had a price tag of $8 million.
However, in 2016, Ye upgraded his then-wife’s bling with something much larger. Also created by Lorriane, Kim was given a 20-carat emerald-cut diamond ring, which was estimated to cost $4.9 million — a lot less than her original ring.
“My first one that I got engaged to Kanye [with] was a cushion cut and that was the only piece of jewelry I owned that I didn’t take to Paris.”
In the same episode, Kim also detailed when she wore both engagement rings during an outing at Madison Square Garden and later posted the rocks on social media. Ye warned her not to wear both her engagement rings at the same time. “Kanye saw it and he goes, ‘Don’t you ever wear both of your rings at the same time. Are you looking to get robbed?'”
That same year, Kim was robbed at her Paris hotel in 2016, and her second engagement ring was one of the pieces stolen during the terrifying heist in which Kim was held at gunpoint. Kim detailed on The Kardashians, that she, thankfully, still had her first engagement ring from the rapper after not taking it on her trip.
Kim also revealed that she would be giving her older daughter, North West, her ring from Ye. “That one, I’m gonna give to Northy, because she was with me when I got engaged and she held it after and I took a photo and she was just, like, a few months old.”
