The Nigerian Armed Forces have reported the elimination of 82 terrorists and the rescue of 93 kidnapped individuals over the past week. This operation underscores the military’s intensified efforts to combat terrorism and restore peace across the nation.
The Defence Headquarters detailed that combined troops conducted a series of coordinated operations targeting terrorist hideouts and strongholds. These missions led to the neutralization of 82 terrorists, the apprehension of 138 suspects, and the liberation of 93 individuals held captive. The operations spanned multiple regions, focusing on areas notorious for insurgent activities.

In the second quarter of 2024, the armed forces reported the elimination of 2,245 terrorists, the arrest of 3,682 suspects, and the rescue of 1,993 kidnapped victims. These figures highlight the continuous and effective pressure being applied to terrorist networks across the country.
