Man United Legend, Berbatov Snubs Ronaldo As He Names The Best Striker In Football History

Dimitar Berbatov

Dimitar Berbatov, a former Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich forward, has ranked some of the best strikers in world football history.

The former Bulgaria International is of the opinion that Netherlands icon, Marco van Basten was a better striker than Cristiano Ronaldo.

The legendary Portugal captain and Berbatov playef together at Old Trafford for one season before the Al-Nassr ace left for Real Madrid in 2009.

In the 39 times they shared the pitch, both men combined to scored five goals.

Berbatov was asked by Goal to choose the best striker between two of some of football’s best legs and he went for Basten.

No doubt, Marco van Basten is widely regarded as one of the greatest players ever when he played for Ajax and AC Milan.

He scored an impressive 277 goals and 87 assists in 373 career games, winning the Ballon d’Or thrice (1988, 89, 92).

He is famous for scoring one of the best goals of the European Championship in the 1998 final against the Soviet Union.

Ronaldo already has 924 goals in his basket, being the highest goalkeeper in the history of the game.

While Roanldo is still active and still playing at 40, Van Basten retired at the age of 30 due to recurring ankle injuries.

Ronaldo recently described himself as the most complete football player that has ever existed.

The Portuguese feels he is the best footballer in history ahead of Lionel Messi, Diego Maradona, and Pele.

With five Ballons d’Or, 35 trophies, 924 goals, and 257 assists in 1,262 games for club and country, there is no doubt that Ronaldo is one of the best to have kicked the round leather game.
