Liam wrapped up filming the show last summer, but after his passing in October 2024, there were rumors that the project would not see the light of day. However, Netflix recently confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that they never planned on shelving the project, and Building the Band will be released on the platform at some point this year.
In addition to Liam, the show also features Nicole Scherzinger from The Pussycat Dolls and Kelly Rowland from Destiny’s Child. The three of them are the judges and will find the best contestants to build the ultimate band.

Liam’s Tragic Death
Liam Payne passed away tragically after he fell off a balcony in his hotel room in Buenos Aires. He was only 31 years old, and his death shook the world. Especially the entertainment industry, and of course, his former bandmates in particular.
While the One Direction members have had fights and disagreements through the years, they all loved each other unconditionally, and this loss will be difficult for them to get over.
They each shared their condolences individually, with Louis Tomlinson calling him “the kind brother I’d longed all my life for,” and Zayn Malik saying “I lost a brother when you left us and can’t explain to you what I’d give to just give you a hug one last time and say goodbye to you properly and tell you that I loved and respected you dearly.”
