Ex-PDP chairman, others join APC in Ebonyi

A former acting chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, Ifeanyi Nworie, joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state on Wednesday, with his supporters.

Nworie, who was received with his supporters by APC chairman in the state, Staley Okoro, during a Civic reception organized in his honor by the people of Ezza South Local Government Area, described his former party as a failure.

Nworie, who spoke on behalf of other defectors, said that he did not join the APC because of the crisis in PDP and promised to join hands with the State Government to move the State forward.

He assured that he would not be a party to any form of fractionalisation of the party, adding that his dream is to see the party win all elective positions in the 2027 general election.

APC chairman in the state, Emegha maintained that there has been relative peace in Ezza South Local Government Area and called on the opposition and the people to continue to support Governor Francis Nwifuru in achieving his dreams and agenda for the people.

He maintained that the APC is a disciplined party and urged the defectors to be mindful of their actions and warned against acts that would bring crisis within the party.

The Chairman Ezza South Local Government Chairman, Mrs. Euphemia Nwali, said that the developmental stride of the governor since the inception of his administration has continued to attract people from the different opposition parties to the APC.

She maintained that the people have witnessed the transformation and the laudable achievements of Governor Nwifuru.
