Chlöe Bailey is facing a fresh lawsuit for allegedly not crediting songwriter-producer Melvin Moore, professionally known as “OneInThe4Rest” (“4Rest”), for the work he did on her 2024 album, “Trouble In Paradise.”
The songwriter says that the singer, along with her record labels, Bailey and her labels, Columbia Records and Parkwood Entertainment, are withholding payment for his work on three songs that appear on the album… “Favorite,” “Same Lingerie,” and “Might as Well.”
He says that the songs were inspired by his own life experiences and says that she “failed to seek permission from [Moore] to commercially exploit” his work and “also failed to engage in good-faith negotiations with [Moore] prior to the commercial release” of the tracks.
Moore blasted all involved as “modern-day swindlers” and said that he had tried to privately resolve the matter for nearly “200 days” but that no resolution had been reached.
Moore is asking for a court order to stop further commercial use of the songs and an investigation into Parkwood and Columbia’s revenue from unauthorized use of the songs, plus proper credit for all songs.
Moore also wants payment of all profits from the songs, monetary damages up to $150,000 for each intentional violation, and $5 million in punitive damages.
