As we reported in December, former Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star Teddi Mellencamp moved in with Kyle Richards – sort of – and an unnamed source claims the arrangement is working out well for both women.
Their unique living situation came about for a few reasons, primarily Teddi’s estrangement and looming divorce from husband Edwin Arroyave.
In early November, Teddi disclosed that she and Edwin were splitting up — and not long after that, rumors that Teddi had an affair with married horse trainer Simon Schroeder circulated.
Teddi acknowledged the existence of the rumors on the podcast she co-hosts with Tamra Judge, Two Ts In A Pod, but only said she was “not going to confirm or deny anything.”
As for why Teddi partly moved in with Kyle, she says it’s part of a co-parenting arrangement called “nesting,” where separated partners take turns living in one house, and the children don’t go back and forth between parents.
She explained:
“[In] some places you can just file for divorce … in California, there’s a six-month cooling-off period. During that six months, you can do a multitude of things.
“The way I learned about nesting was one of my good girlfriends, she’s a divorce coach. She told me about nesting. It’s where the kids stay [in the marital home] and the parents come and go.”
When that was initially reported, Teddi and Kyle’s living arrangements were still new, and the specter of reality TV drama occurring loomed large.
Teddi also openly struggled during her first Christmas without her children, engaging in an Instagram posting spree from Kyle’s house, and comparing herself to Bridget Jones.
Not long after that, she posted a comments off “tribute” to her estranged husband Edwin, prompting speculation she was considering reconciliation.

Teddi And Kyle Are Supporting Each Other
RHOBH is one of the back-stabbiest shows to ever exist, so the prospect of two “housewives” forced to co-exist under the same roof could be an iffy one.
A source with purported inside knowledge of the situation told InTouch that isn’t the case, though, and explained both women benefited from the arrangement.
They described Kyle as “like a big sister” to Teddi, saying:
“Kyle has always been like a big sister to Teddi, so this is a best case situation for them both in this scenario. Teddi is absolutely in need of some support, regardless of the circumstances.
“The loss of her marriage to [Edwin] and life partner of so many years is very, very har. Kyle is further on the journey of this whole divorced life and can guide her.”
According to the source, Teddi and Kyle are “having a lot of fun, every night is girls’ night in,” and they host friends frequently.
While Kyle is “ahead” in her divorce “journey,” the source claimed “having Teddi around is a great blessing” for her, too, as she navigates the ongoing changes in her own protracted separation from Mauricio Umansky.
