We’re finally out of the pods on Love Is Blind: Germany. Now the reality TV show’s engaged couples set out for Greece for a romantic getaway.
While the couples start off on their own, eventually everyone is brought together for a party. Will seeing former pod matches for the first time stir up old feelings?
Reveals Go Right And Wrong
We pick up immediately after Sally and Medina’s reveal, and Sally says she doesn’t feel like she knows the man she just met, still in tears over how uncomfortable their meeting was. Shortly thereafter, the crew informs Medina that Sally has left the set, which comes as a surprise to him, though he does say he could sense her hesitation when they met.
Things quickly move on to better news, as Tolga and Shila have their reveal together, and this time no one runs away. Shila tells the cameras that things feel very natural between them:
Our first kiss was just beautiful. Even though it was the first time we had seen each other, it felt totally familiar.
Tolga cracks a joke that Shila “won the battle” against his other top match. Seriously, just when I think I might be starting to come around to this man, he goes and says something stupid that feels crass and inconsiderate of his partner.

The Cast Heads To The Real World
For their cast trip, the newly engaged couples jet off to Greece to spend some quality time together. Hanni and Daniel comment on their physical chemistry, noting that they’ll definitely have a few sleepless nights there. In keeping with his assigned role as slimiest of the season (as dubbed by me), Tolga appears to take pride in saying that he and Shila will be the “most toxic” of the couples, and he wonders aloud how many fights they’ll have on the trip.
He puts his foot in it a few other times, making comments that he expects Shila to cook for him and that he didn’t realize marriage would feel like “prison.” Meanwhile, unfortunately, it appears that Pascal and Shella may not be entirely on the same page. While she comments on how organic things feel between them, he tells the cameras that he’s honestly not sure he sees her as his fiancée.

These bumps in the road make Jen’s issue with Marcel pale in comparison. Her same gripe with him continues — that she feels like he stares at her too much, making her uncomfortable, despite him saying he’s just looking on adoringly. He notes that he’s curious to see how they interact as a couple around other people, and he admits to the cameras that they may have less in common than he originally thought:
I’m starting to realize that we are very different in many ways. But it’s only the second day, and there’s still a long way to go.
In my opinion, the strongest couple at this point appears to be Hanni and Daniel, who seem very secure in their connection and who have the physical spark to match. Hanni shares that she’s relieved to know that Daniel fell for her for reasons other than her looks. They exude the kind of quiet confidence in their union that reminds me of the most successful couples of seasons past, and for now they have me rooting for them more than anyone else in the season.
At the end of the episode, the cast finally gets together and meets everyone on the other side of the pods for the first time. When the men chat, Tolga divulges that things are “very uncomfortable” for him with Shila, saying that she’s suffocating. I feel terrible for poor Shila, who, at that same moment, quite literally, is gushing to her friends about how pretty Tolga’s blue-green eyes are. She deserves so much better!
To make matters worse, Hanni comes over to the men and describes what Hannah looks like to Tolga. When he hears that his old match might also be Turkish like him, he looks regretful, though he strikes me as the kind of person who’s always on the lookout for the next best thing no matter what.

Things end on a dramatic note thanks to Hanni and Ilias having a one-on-one conversation while their partners look on. Hanni tells the cameras that she’s curious to see if Daniel will exhibit any jealousy, and Ilias is unabashed in telling the cameras that he still has feelings for Hanni despite being engaged to Alina.
If there’s one thing this season could use, it’s a major blowup between couples or maybe even a called-off engagement, and certainly that seems to be what the show is teasing for its next set of episodes. Fans can tune in to Netflix for Episodes 5-8 on Friday, January 10th.
Fifteen men and women from the same city come together to compete in Love is Blind, a reality dating show created for Netflix. The show sees couples meet and fall in love with a twist – they’ll only meet face to face if one of the two accepts a marriage proposal. If they accept, they’ll move in with their partner, meet their families, and ultimately decide if they want to say “I do.”
