Trent Alexander-Arnold’s contract at his boyhood club comes to an end next summer. Real Madrid, are strongly interested in signing the 26-year-old as a successor to the ageing Dani Carvajal. Los Blancos are reportedly preparing a £20 million offer to secure Alexander-Arnold’s services this month, much before the right-back turns a free agent. However, the defender is not keen on signing a pre-contract deal with the Spanish giants. This is owing to the fact that it might disrupt Liverpool’s title campaign this season.
Meanwhile, the Reds’ management in an attempt to lure Trent Alexander-Arnold to stay back at the club, have tabled a massive contract offer. Liverpool have offered a five-year £78 million deal, with wages ranging up to £300,000k per week. This would easily make him one of the EPL’s highest earners. Madrid are also ready to offer a similar wage for the English full-back. Unofficially, Liverpool might also offer a future captaincy role for Alexander-Arnold, succeeding current skipper Virgil van Dijk.
