After months of a cat-and-mouse chase, Tiffany Stratton finally pulled the trigger and successfully cashed in her Money in the Bank contract on this week’s SmackDown. That sent the 11,000-strong house at the Footprint Center into a frenzy. However, while Friday was the most rewarding night in Tiffy’s career, it would haunt Naomi for a long time. The latter was fancying her chances against Nia Jax.
During the business end of the women’s title bout, Stratton decked The Glow Queen with her MITB briefcase. It allowed Jax to hit the annihilator and retain her championship. Reacting to the fate of her tag team partner, Bianca Belair took to X. The EST posted a couple of photos from SmackDown where she could be seen comforting a subdued Naomi.
The 35-year-old Tennessean asked Naomi to not drop her head as everyone’s proud of her herculean effort. One might reckon that The Glow Queen had Nia in check until the shenanigans played a factor. At first, Candice LeRae meddled but was soon nullified by Belair. Once Stratton’s music hit, the arena was rumbling.
She made a beeline to the timekeeper’s area and intended to cash in. However, the 25-year-old backpedaled. In hindsight, it was for her own greater good. She helped Nia beat Naomi, making The Irresistible Force believe she’s still on her side. In the ring, The Buff Barbie asked Jax to perch on the turnbuckle and then celebrate. That was it.
Seeing Nia’s back turned on her, Tiffy smelled blood and slammed the briefcase across her spine. Bianca got her lick back too on Jax, softening the latter up for Stratton, who did the rest. And just like that, The Center of the Universe pinned her former bestie for the WWE Women’s Championship.
How did Triple H react to Tiffany Stratton’s historic moment on SmackDown?
Continuing the tradition, Triple H did his iconic finger point at Tiffany Stratton after her coronation on SmackDown. Taking to X, the WWE CCO asserted that fortune favors the bold. That being said, the ‘Tiffy Time’ is upon the WWE Universe, and they’re loving every bit of it.
Becoming a world champion checks one box, but Stratton hasn’t quite experienced what it’s like to stay on the top. Even though she’s a former NXT Women’s Champion, the main roster is an entirely different ballgame.
The erstwhile gymnast needs to keep her head on a swivel. Nia Jax would surely be gunning for revenge. Moreover, in the larger scheme of things, the brand-new champ is expected to bump shoulders with Charlotte Flair. The Queen can make her return any moment now.
