Bayelsa State Rocked By Deadly Cult Clash, Leaving 3 Dead

Deadly Cult Clash

A clash between the Greenlanders and Bobos cult groups has claimed three lives in the Igbogene community of Yenagoa Local Government Area, Bayelsa State.

One of those killed was the son of a former leader of a community vigilante known as Money Sweet.

According to reports, the cultists, numbering about 10 and armed with dangerous weapons invaded the Igbogene area at about 8 pm, causing residents to scamper to safety and lock their doors.

A resident told journalists on the condition of anonymity that the first person who was shot dead was the son of the former leader of the community vigilante group.

“He was shot close to his house. The second person, who was not a cultist, was shot when he could not disclose the whereabouts of his elder brother,”
the source said.

Confirming the situation, the state police command public relations officer, Musa Mohammed, said those shot include one Donaldson Mison, 28; Addy Mulan, 27; and Greenboy Dudella, 29.
