Atiku Shares Key Lessons from Ohanaeze Election

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has shared his thoughts on the recent Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide election, highlighting key lessons that can be applied to Nigeria’s progress.

Atiku, in a statement issued by his media aide Paul Ibe, congratulated the new President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Senator John Azuta-Mbata, on his victory.

He agreed with Mbata that the election marks a significant moment for the organisation, signalling a new era of progress, unity, and development.

The former vice president also commended the South East Governors’ Forum for their exemplary leadership in ensuring a free and fair election, as well as a smooth transition in Ohanaeze leadership.

Atiku noted that the election holds valuable lessons for Nigeria. “There are lessons to be learnt from the alliance forged by participants despite their political diversity,” he said.

This alliance, Atiku emphasized, demonstrates that unity and progress can be achieved despite differences.

Atiku also urged the Mbata-led executive to work towards uniting Ndigbo around shared values and to collaborate with other socio-cultural organisations to promote unity. He stressed the importance of tolerance and inter-communal relations in achieving peace, stability, and development.
