Vanderpump Rules fans may have been sad to hear that Season 12 will feature an entirely new cast, but it seemed that it was the only way to continue with the beloved Bravo show. The new season, which will air sometime in 2025, will showcase Lisa Vanderpump’s employees at SUR restaurant, which is just how the very first season of VPR began.
Although Scheana Shay, Tom Sandoval, Tom Schwartz, Ariana Madix, Katie Maloney, James Kennedy, and Lala Kent will no longer be giving viewers yet another drama-filled season, one former alum has revealed that he will be featured in Season 12. After all, he continued working at SUR even after most, if not all, of the cast had gone off to do bigger things in their careers.

Vanderpump Rules Alum Peter Madrigal Admits He’ll Be In The Season 12 Reboot
In November, Bravo announced that a brand-new season of Vanderpump Rules would be a reboot and feature all new faces who work at SUR restaurant.
“Under Lisa Vanderpump’s watchful eye, the West Hollywood mainstay SUR — and now TomTom — welcomes the next batch of servers, hosts and bartenders rife with plenty of drama, situationships and frenemies,” the press release read.
That meant that all the iconic VPR cast members were no longer a part of the Bravo series. However, VPR alum Peter Madrigal recently revealed that fans can expect to see him in the reboot. Peter had been a recurring cast member since Season 1, but was not a part of Season 11.
Speaking on the Vanderpump Robs podcast, Peter shared that viewers can see him sporadically in the new season since he currently works at SUR restaurant as a manager. “I did a couple of little clips here and there, and that was it,” When asked if the reality star would be seen in Season 12, he shared, “You better.”

Vanderpump Rules.

Peter also told the host that he always knew VPR wouldn’t get canceled despite all the rumors. “I’ve been around that restaurant every day. I put my blood, sweat and tears into that place.” Possibly making a dig at the VPR alum’s who left SUR and won’t get their reality TV jobs back, Peter added that staying at the restaurant as a worker might have been a blessing in disguise.
“I’m the only one that stuck around, and I’m the only one that wanted to make that place something. I’ve known about [the reboot] for a while, I just couldn’t say anything,” Peter shared, adding that what people might see in the new Season 12 is Peter more so as a mentor to the young, fresh-faced servers.

Peter Gave An Insight On The New Cast
In addition to confirming that fans will see him here and there in the Season 12 reboot, Peter also gave a little insight on the new cast, stating, “Oh yeah they all work at SUR.”
“It’s a dynamic new cast that’s vibrant, but there’s a lot of similarities, let’s put it that way. There’s a lot of drama.”
He added, “See, that’s the thing the old cast may leave, but the new cast coming in. The new people coming in, same drama. Everyone’s dating each other. The only difference is that I wasn’t a busser when they met me. When they met me, I was already Peter, SUR manager. That’s the difference.”
In Bravo’s press release, they teased fans about what to expect with the new cast, stating that it would be a group of “close-knit SUR-vers who are as complicatedly involved with one another as their iconic predecessors.” It’s basically what Peter shared on the podcast episode, meaning that viewers can look forward to breakups, makeups, and loads of confrontation.
VPR’s executive producer Alex Baskin also shared his excitement about the upcoming new season. “What a thrill it is to build on the legacy of this series by doing it all over again. With profound appreciation for the original group and their iconic run, we can’t wait for the audience to see a dynamic new group of co-workers and friends make their way through life together.”

A Few VPR Alums Will Return To The Spin-Off The Valley
It’s sad that fans will no longer see fan-favorites like Scheana and Lala on VPR, but luckily, they will be starring in Season 2 of The Valley. The spin-off follows VPR alums like Kristen Doute, and former married couple Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor, along with other new faces as they leave their partying ways behind and are living in the San Fernando Valley.
According to Deadline, Season 2 has finished filming and Lala, Scheana, her husband, Brock Davies, and even Tom Schwartz will be seen in the upcoming season, although it doesn’t appear that they will be main cast members. Likely, Lala and Scheana will be there as support systems for Brittany as she navigates a messy divorce from Jax.
All the cast members from VPR and The Valley have remained close outside their respective shows, especially Lala, Scheana, and Brittany, as they have all welcomed children around the same time. There’s no word as to what part Tom will play in the series, but he’s certainly a close friend of the group.
