Season 19 of Sister Wives has been shockingly eventful and dramatic after it started with a bang – which is saying a lot, considering where things stand with the Brown family – and TLC most certainly did not front-load the season with all the action.
During the week, TLC released an absolutely off-the-wall mid-season trailer for Sister Wives, though the network didn’t draw attention to it, and it wasn’t easy to find … it very nearly passed us by.
Before we even get to the Sister Wives mid-season trailer’s content, we cannot understate how utterly bonkers Sister Wives Season 19 has been — we’ve been recapping each episode in painstaking detail, precisely because every episode of the reality TV staple has been unbelievably action-heavy.

Buzz about the Sister Wives mid-season trailer started as early as November 20, per a thread posted to Reddit’s r/TLCSisterWives by a fan trying to track it down.
TLC doesn’t seem to have shared it on YouTube, but eventually we happened upon a copy quietly uploaded by the network on Instagram:
To be blunt, the “elephant in the room” for viewers before Season 19 dropped was whether Sister Wives could still be entertaining given the fact that three of Kody’s four wives – Christine, Janelle, and Meri – exited their plural marriage, leaving Kody and Robyn monogamous by default.
In TLC’s Instagram caption, the network indicated that the “Browns’ story is far from over,” and that has perhaps been the biggest surprise of Season 19 — the post-polygamy happenings of the now-divided clan are no less fascinating, and are maybe even more entertaining.

The Sister Wives Mid-Season Trailer Was Scandalous
Some Sister Wives fans referred to the mid-season trailer as a “Still To Come …,” as the clip began with those words.
“Still To Come …” segments are inherently fast-paced and confusing, with scenes and developments crashing into one another, and very little cohesion or context so as not to spoil the rest of the season.
One thing that stood out was the amount of tawdry language crammed into such a short reel — Meri swears in the first few moments, but seconds later during a lunch scene, her friend asks her: “Have you f***** any men?”
Cut to Christine trying on a wedding gown in a bridal salon with much of her entourage (including Janelle) present, and immediately, Mykelti says to her mother:
“Your vagina looks really nice … we weren’t sure where it was, but now we are.”
Are we still in Utah? A few short scenes later, Janelle, Christine, and David are sitting in a bar, and David proposes “try[ing] a slippery nipple,” which is a layered shot containing sambuca, Bailey’s Irish Cream, and grenadine.
Several of the mid-season trailer’s scenes hint at potential litigation, and a fan on Reddit’s r/SisterWives admitted the teaser drew them in strongly:
“That mid-season trailer sucked me back in. Holy shittake, Meri and Janelle on skype teaming up? YES.
“It’s probably an illusion and we have 9 more episodes about Christine’s engagement.”
Indeed, Meri and Janelle are seen discussing the prospect of involving an attorney, something Janelle suggests she plans on doing.
At one point, Meri finally seems to address being made whole financially with respect to the Coyote Pass land, and she says:
I put money into it, I’m going to get my part out of it.
It’s so wrong that we have to do this. I’m so mad!
In a separate scene, Kody also talks about the division of the assets: “I think they’re worried about whether I’m going to be fair or not. Divorce just takes away all trust.”
Many viewers would argue that “divorce” is not what eroded anyone’s trust in Kody, and moreover, it’s certainly not up to Kody what constitutes “fair” when land with monetary value is at issue.
Robyn is briefly seen crying while roasting a hot dog, before it cuts to Kody and Robyn in a restaurant on Valentine’s Day, and dialogue is paired with a voiceover:
[Kody]: “Will you accept me as monogamous?”
[Robyn’s voiceover]: “It’s not what I wanted.”
As the Sister Wives mid-season trailer starts winding down, scenes of two people riding ATVs (All-Terrain Vehicles) are interspersed, and it looks like Robyn and Kody.
Toward the end, it appears Robyn was sent flying from an in-motion ATV before Kody rushes to her side, and two fans commented:
“Robyn getting her ass kicked off that ATV was what I have been WAITING for this entire series!!!!”
“I rewatched it three times! So satisfying!! Hahaha!!!”
Robyn gets a lot of heat from fans who see her as the architect of the triple breakup, and in the Instagram comments, several commenters said things like: “Robyn killed this family,” “Robin coming into this family was the beginning of the end,” and “Robyn says at the end this is not what she wanted, but oh yes it is!”
Ultimately, viewers seemed to think TLC intentionally placed Robyn being thrown from the ATV at the end, and yet another commented about watching it repeatedly: “How many times did y’all go back to watch Robyn fly off the 4 wheeler?”
However, Sister Wives fans are definitely not hate-watching Season 19, as several commended Kody’s “OG three,” and one observed: “[Meri], Janelle and Christine just look so much happier now. They look healthier and more alive.”
