In His Words! Lil Baby Opens Up About His Sons Being On Social Media & His Friendship With Gunna (VIDEOS)

Lil Baby is one of those celebrities who usually doesn’t have much to say in the public eye. Recently, though, he kept it 100 on Lil Yachty’s ‘A Safe Place’ show and Charlamagne Tha God’s ‘Out Of Context’ show. Between both interviews, there were at least two topics that got some online attention. They include Lil Baby’s thoughts about his two sons being on social media and where he stands with Gunna. Baby is a dad to 9-year-old Jason with Ayesha Howard, who just welcomed a child with pro-baller Anthony Edwards, per Page Six. The rapper also co-parents five-year-old Loyal Armani with Jayda Cheaves.

Lil Baby Speaks About His Sons’ Social Media Presence

Loyal, in particular, often goes viral for TikTok and other social media uploads with his mother. Meanwhile, Jason has an Instagram page that his mom runs with nearly 60,000 followers. It’s the same case with Loyal Armani, except that his page has more than 550,000 followers.

While speaking to Lil Yachty, though, Lil Baby didn’t single out Ayesha, Jayda, or either of his sons. Instead, he simply shared that he would prefer both of his kids to be off of social platforms.

“I feel like the internet is a crazy place, and if it was up to me, I wouldn’t put my children on the internet for real. But it is what it is…what I will say is I come from a different cloth so it’s certain sh*t we don’t play about. Cause nobody gon make a comment that they say on the internet around me, never.” Lil Baby told Yachty.

So, in his mind, Baby said he knows he can’t beat the internet! “…Certain sh*t don’t bother me when I see it,” the dad of two said. Offline, though, the rapper said he has conversations with his boys to shape their minds. It appears that Lil Baby was kind of beating around bombshell comments about his Loyal Armani’s mannerisms, which has gone as far as grown folks questioning a five-year-old sexuality.

“If it was up to me, I’d go without having my children on the internet, period,” Baby said. At this time, it doesn’t appear that either Ayesha or Jayda Cheaves have responded to comments from their children’s father.

Baby Confirms He’s Broken Ties With Gunna

In the interview with Lil Yachty, the ‘Freestyle’ rapper also opened up about his boundaries for musical collabs. He clarified that he can’t work with people who snitch because the lyrics won’t match the rapper. You can take Baby out of the hood, but the “morals and principles” surrounding snitch culture are deep-rooted, he implied.

“Those kind of morals never gon’ leave. I’m always gon look at certain stuff, a certain way,” Baby said. He further explained why he can’t just overlook snitching. “We can’t rap about that, and you did THAT. If I was making Christmas music, I wouldn’t give a damn what you did…Talking about what we talking about, doing what we doing.”

Still, Lil Baby said he prefers to keep his thoughts offline, anyway. Swipe below to see how he said this new “outrageous” culture is “f**king up the way of living for rappers.”

In a conversation with Charlamagne, Lil Baby wasn’t shy about confirming he no longer has ties to Gunna. “I don’t got no relationship,” the rapper said.

Tha God also asked Baby to respond to rumors that he can’t make hits with Gunna. Despite super successful collabs like ‘Drip Too Hard’ and ‘Close Friends,’ Lil Baby seemed confident in his own abilities in the booth!

“The internet will say anything, you know how many hits I got? So that don’t even make sense, you know,”  he responded.

As far as collaborating again, Lil Baby said he doesn’t see that happening, even IF Young Thug himself asked him to hop on a group joint. Baby also denied that the lyrics in his track ‘350’ were about Gunna.

For context, Gunna has been the subject of snitching allegations since his release from jail in December 2022. Despite heavily rejecting the label, the internet and other rappers have persisted with it.

Like Thugger, who ultimately beat his case, Gunna faced RICO charges concerning YSL. He walked after accepting an Alford plea, meaning he didn’t necessarily admit to the crimes listed in the RICO case, but acknowledged that it was in his best interest to plead guilty. Gunna was also required to read a court statement about his affiliation with the “Slime Life” brand, record label and alleged street gang.

“I recognize, accept, and deeply regret that my talent and music indirectly furthered YSL the gang to the detriment of my community. YSL as a gang must end,” as read by the prosecutor,” Gunna told the court ahead of his release.

In June 2024, Gunna claimed in an interview that he was still signed to YSL and that no paperwork has been changed. He also said that it’s all love with Thugger, adding, “Our relationship is our relationship.” That same month, Thug’s dad was front-row enjoying Gunna’s performance.

Additionally, upon his release, Young Thug requested that Gunna be one of the people he was allowed to contact for business purposes. Overall, it seemed like all was good between Thugger and Gunna despite the snitching allegations.
