17-year-old Barcelona youngster, Lamine Yamal, has been an important and integral part of the club’s starting line-up. However, the teenage star injured his right ankle in the game against Red Star and was ruled out of the next two La Liga games against Real Sociedad and Celta Vigo. Barcelona lost against Sociedad and drew against Celta in his absence. Now, manager Hansi Flick has revealed the date of comeback of Yamal.
While speaking to the media on Monday, Flick discussed the importance of Yamal and his contributions to Barcelona’s attack. However, he also revealed that Yamal would not be available for the mid-week Champions League clash against Brest.
Instead, Flick shared that the youngster might feature as a substitute during the upcoming La Liga match against Las Palmas over the weekend.

Yamal has been instrumental in helping Barcelona secure crucial points, as the club has dropped points in all three games he either missed or did not start. Fans and the manager alike will be hoping for his swift return to the starting XI and a quick recovery to his best form. Notably, he also missed the international break for Spain.
Hansi Flick asserts Barca have to win games without Lamine Yamal
During the same press conference, Flick discussed Yamal’s qualities and how he forces the defensive line to retreat, making him a constant threat to the opposition’s defense. Barcelona lacks a like-for-like replacement for his quality on the right wing.
However, Flick emphasized that whoever steps into the lineup to replace him always gives their best. He stressed the importance of finding solutions and securing wins even in Yamal’s absence.
Barca will face Brest at their home in Matchday 5. They are sixth on the UCL points table with nine points in four games. They have won three matches and lost one. On the other hand, they are at the top of the La Liga table, with 34 points in 14 games. They have a lead of four points over Real Madrid, who still have one game in hand.
