Looks like Conor McGregor might have truly lived up to his nickname, ‘The Notorious.’ The verdict for the civil case against McGregor for se*ually assaulting Nikita Ni Laimhin (Hand) is in. The jury in Dublin’s High Court for the McGregor trial found the MMA fighter to have assaulted Hand in December 2018. They have ordered the Irishman to pay Hand €248,603 ($260,000) in damages.
Hand had originally approached the Garda Síochána, the Irish police force, although they declined to press criminal charges against the UFC Fighter. The case then came to light when Hand pressed civil charges against McGregor in 2021 for the December 2018 incident. After a long struggle, Hand was served justice today after the jury vindicated her claims.
McGregor’s co-defendant, James Lawrence, was found innocent by the court. However, the piling evidence of a r*pe kit, psychological examinations and the history of McGregor’s drug usage was enough to close the case for the jury.

Earlier this week, the court had heard the closing arguments from both parties for the Conor McGregor trial, which involved a lot of name-calling. Following the conviction on Friday, the next verdict from the court will be on Thursday, to determine whether McGregor will pay the estimated legal fees to Nikita Hand.
Following the verdict of the Conor McGregor trial, it was a case of two tales between McGregor and Nikita Hand’s parties. As the verdict came out, the High Court in Dublin was flooded by a storm of reporters. However, McGregor refused to speak a single word, let alone hand out a statement to the media after the loss.
He was seen hurriedly leaving the scene in a media flurry outside the court. On the other hand, an emotional Nikita Hand addressed the media following her striking victory in the case.

The verdict finally brings to an end a multi-year saga which involved the families of both Conor McGregor and Nikita Hand. During the verdict, McGregor was joined by his fiancée Dee Devlin and his parents, none of whom offered to comment on the case either.
