A Miami jeweler wants a piece of money out of ‘Money.’ Leonard Sulaymanov, owner of the online marketplace LenZo & Co, is suing boxing legend Floyd Mayweather. The lawsuit dispute goes back more than three years over alleged non-payment. These include high-end watches from Audemars Piguet, Richard Mille, and Patek Philippe, along with a diamond necklace and ring.
Those sound like a collection that could rival Conor McGregor’s love for Jacob and Co. and Patek Philippe. Mayweather made an ROI of $275 million when he fought McGregor in crossover boxing in 2017. Case in point – Floyd Mayweather rolled in an armored SUV during his recent visit to Chambao. So…filed last Friday in Miami federal court, were Sulaymanov’s complaint just a money grab for all these?
The lawsuit alleges that the boxer stiffed him after he agreed to purchase numerous pieces of jewelry three years back. In court documents reviewed by the Miami Herald, Sulaymanov says a Mayweather associate struck a deal during a late June 2021 meeting in Miami Beach.
The plaintiff says he got a double-decker $267,000 down payment before Mayweather absconded. A total of $4 million ($3,883,657) is allegedly outstanding! The jeweler is also charging the Michigan native and his company, The Money Team (TMT), with violations of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO).
A RICO lawsuit is a serious charge on the otherwise lavish Mayweather, which could freeze up much of his windfalls. If found guilty, it will affect Mayweather’s reputation and might pave the way for more people to accuse the boxing legend of backhanded tactics. Was this part of his lengthy foreign money issues? There’s no telling yet. It’s not like he’s short on dough.

Pinching pennies is not something Floyd Mayweather does. The $500m rich high-flyer is the extravagant kind. Yes, buying up extra seats at a WNBA game in Nevada ‘is kind of’ extravagant. According to TMZ Sports, the high-flying “Money” dropped some serious cash on some art a few years back.
A $4 million legal lawsuit here, some media availability troubles there, and yet nothing slows Mayweather’s roll. He remains the same. In the 2022 year-end, outlets reported that Mayweather spent more than $4 million on his growing collection. Yes, exactly $4 million, which now has four Andy Warhol pieces.
The next day, he stopped by Carole Kvasnevski’s booth at Scope on Ocean Drive. Mayweather was also seen looking at @OutofAfrica’s Justin Ebanda, posing with artist Charly Palmer, chatting with Kenyan photographer Thandiwe Muriu, and sitting on Ken Nwadiogbu’s “The Migrant.” For the uninitiated, those are high-end traits in the art world. The boxer, in the last few years, has had money to spare, and it shows.
Mayweather even danced the art trance away in the Komodo Lounge and infamously announced a party. The question is – will that save the boxer now? The 47-year-old remains entwined in odd rumors of running into serious debts. A RICO on his boxing empire would keep his assets engaged in the lawsuit for years.
