A top chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Benedict Akika has reportedly been kidnapped, by some yet-to-be-identified gunmen.
Akika was said to have been abducted on Wednesday, September 4, night at his residence in Olorunda, Lagelu Local Government Area of Oyo State.
It was gathered that the heavily armed abductors invaded Akika’s home and threatened to kill anyone who puts up any form of resistance against them.
A source within the family who spoke on the incident said the PDP chieftain was relaxing with his family when the gunmen stormed his residence.
According to family sources, “He was kidnapped last night(Wednesday night). And this is a man that empowered some widows and the less privileged with work tools worth millions of naira at his Olorunda residence a few weeks ago.”
