Yahaya congratulates new Gombe NUJ leadership 

 

The Gombe state governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya,  Thursday congratulated the newly elected chairman of the state’s chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Farouk Mu’azu Gombe and other executive council members on their victory at the just concluded union’s election. 

The governor said his government anticipates a stronger relationship with the union and the media practitioners in general, grounded in good ethics, mutual respect, and the overall interest of the state.

He charged the new NUJ leadership to maintain the union’s tradition of excellence, stating the need for continuous professional development and adherence to ethical standards.

“As you embark on this new journey, I urge you to live up to the expectations of your esteemed profession by upholding the highest standards of journalism. 

“Your role in shaping public opinion and holding leaders accountable cannot be overstated. 

“I urge you to also foster unity among members and contribute positively to the broader societal goals of peace and development,” the governor pleaded.
