The Chief Executive Officer and Publisher of Neptune Prime Newspapers, Dr Hassan Gimba, Saturday, commissioned Hafsatu Gimba Ahmed Memorial School located at VIO street, Unguwar Jaji, Potiskum.
Dr. Gimba also inspected the ongoing construction of the Lami Fatima Babare Cancer Clinic situated nearby in Unguwar Jaji in Potiskum town of Yobe state.
Speaking to journalists, Dr. Gimba said the commissioned nursery, primary and secondary school named after his late mother is a project made to benefit the community.
He stated that the school has a borehole, while the classes are modern with light, fans,toilets and teaching equipments including computers, text books among many other teaching facilities.
At the same the vein, Dr Gimba presented a certificate of attendance to some students who took in three months training on tailoring and plumbing at Abubakar Monja Lifeline Foundation for late Journalists’ families, which he founded to cater for the families of journalists who have passed away.
The Neptune prime publisher alongside Emir of fika represented by Shettima of Fika, Alhaji Bukar Abubakar, Prof. MK. Othman of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Dr. Mamman Mohammed, Shamakin of Fika, Dr. Adamu Alhassan Umar, national president Nigerian Cancer Society (NCS), Dr.Abdullahi Mamuda, Chairman board of trustees of the inaugurated school as well as Iliya Joshua, a zonal PRO Nigerian Customs Service Bauchi-Yobe while inspecting the ongoing clinic project said the clinic is named after his late wife who died as a result of cervical cancer.
Dr Gimba noted that the clinic is meant to be a screening center for cervical cancer.
“Because of the community its built within, a lot of people to them is a clinic,some may even called it a hospital,so they will come with there different illments such as stomach ache,headache, heartburn,woman labour and many other health challenges.We what it to be like a primary health Care to complements the effort of Yobe state government on health and education sectors,” he said.
Earlier, Dr Gimba among other friends, families and well wishes attended the wedding Fatiha of his son – Barrister Suleiman Gimba.
The wedding Fatiha took place around 11:00am at the residence of Mohammed Babate, behind Water Board, Army Barracks in Potiskum.
