Lagos set to hold sustainability summit September

The office of the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Sustainable Development Goals (OSDG), Dr Oreoluwa Finnih, in partnership with the Lagos state Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) and the Lagos State Government Safety Commission, has announced the flagship Lagos Sustainability Summit.

The summit billed for September 12 will bring together stakeholders from various sectors to discuss and drive sustainable initiatives in Lagos State.

Themed Building a Resilient and Sustainable Lagos, the summit aims to promote sustainable development, environmental protection, and social responsibility in Lagos State.

It will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, and exhibitions

Briefing newsmen in Lagos on Thursday, Finnih emphasized the importance of collective action towards a sustainable future.

“We stand at a crossroads, and our choices today will determine the Lagos of tomorrow. We must innovate, adapt, and lead the way towards a resilient and sustainable city.

“Under my leadership as the Special Adviser to the Governor on Sustainable Development Goals, we are laser-focused on addressing the critical environmental challenges and advancing sustainable initiatives,” she said.

Also present at the press conference were Dr. Jide Babatunde, Special Adviser E-GIS; Mr Lanre Mojola, DG Lagos State Safety Commission; Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, GM Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency; and, Mr Lekan Balogun, Special Adviser Budget and Planning.

The summit is expected to attract leaders from government, business, civil society, and academia, all working together towards a common goal of a sustainable Lagos.
