The police command in Adamawa says the dreaded Shila Boys have killed a 37-year-old man, Umar Abdulkadir.
The command’s public relations officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, disclosed this in an interview in Yola on Saturday.
Shila Boys are light weapon-bearing youths who terrorise some communities in Adamawa and other places.
They specialise in snatching mobile phones, pieces of jewellery, and other valuables.
Mr Nguroje said the incident happened in the early hours of Saturday when the youths attempted to snatch Mr Abdulkadir’s mobile phones on Ajiya Street in Yola-North Local Government Area.
He said the command received the information at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday.
Mr Nguroje said an investigation into the killing had begun to enable the arrest of all those involved.
