Man beaten by Belle Chasse in Marrero, killed

Louisiana State Police are investigating an accident that killed a bicyclist Tuesday. State police say Pedro Mazueta, 32, of Belle Chasse, was attacked and killed near Robinson Avenue in Marrero. Police say Manzueta was riding his bike on Louisiana 541 in the right side of the eastbound lane when Philemon Lyons-Feemster, 27, of Sulfur, was riding east past Manzueta. Lyons-Feemster was passing Manzueta around a corner when his truck’s trailer hit Manzueta, throwing him to the ground. Manzueta was pronounced dead on the spot. Lyons-Feemster was unharmed in the crash. Although no impairment is suspected, Lyons-Feemster voluntarily provided a breath sample which indicated a BAC of 0.000g%.
