Junior Golf Tour has second event in Texarkana

TEXARKANA, Texas — The second tournament of the Farmers Bank & Trust Junior Golf Tour was played Tuesday afternoon with 23 junior golfers from throughout the area competing at Texarkana Golf Ranch.

Connor Foster, from Prescott, Arkansas, took home the Champions Title in the Boys 15-and-up division with a 42, and Graham Andrus, of Texarkana, won his second title in the Boys 13-14 division with a 44. In the Boys 11-12 age group, Alex Hammonds, of Atlanta, Texas, led the field with a 38 and Jayden Tanner earned runner-up honors with a 41. Sawyer Hopkins walked away with his second win of the season in the Boys 9-10 division with a 43, while Owen Peek earned runner-up. Micah Glick earned his second win in the Coed 8-and-Under division with a 47, and Buck Hawkins received runner-up with a 52.

Sophia Gavriel earned her second win in the Girls 11-12 division with a 47, while Gabi Nevels earned runner-up honors with a 54. Rounding out the Girls 9-10 division was Nora McCarley earning top billing.

The Farmers Bank & Trust Junior Golf Tour is a series of five golf tournaments held in the Spring and Summer for junior golfers. Anyone age 19 and under, who have not yet attended college, is eligible to compete. Overall winners in each age division will be eligible to play in the recently announced APT/WAPT Junior Pro-Am this summer.

The next tournament will be held April 20 at Texarkana Country Club.
