Rivers Governorship Candidates Protest At Police Headquarters, Accuse Wike of Intimidation

Governorship candidates in Rivers state have protested at the State Police headquarters, accusing Governor Nyesom Wike of using security agencies to harass and intimidate them ahead of Saturday’s election.

 

Punch reported that the candidates from different political parties include: Senator Magnus Abe of the Social Democratic Party, Tonye Cole, All Progressives Congress, Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs, Accord and Tonte Ibraye, African Democratic Congress.

 

The opposition parties also alleged that their members and supporters were being harassed and arrested by security agencies working for governor Wike and called for the immediate release of all those arrested within this political period.
