Dallas Cowboys new receiver Brandin Cooks was everywhere, man.
After the speedy wide receiver was traded to Dallas by the Houston Texans Sunday morning, Cooks joined the fifth team of his pro career.
Four of those teams joined Trade. In fact, Cooks was traded four times in his career since he was selected by the New Orleans Saints in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
In 2017, the New England Patriots traded a first-round pick and a third-round pick to New Orleans for Cooks and a fourth-round pick. Then, in 2018, the Los Angeles Rams sent a first-rounder and a sixth-rounder for Cooks and a fourth-rounder to New England.
In 2020, the Houston Texans acquired Cooks and a fourth-round pick from the Rams in exchange for a second-round pick. Now, it’s the Texans who traded the Cooks to the Cowboys in 2023 for a fifth-round pick in that year’s draft and a sixth-round pick in next year’s draft.
Since 1980, Cooks have tied NFL Hall of Famer running back Eric Dickerson for the most traded player of his career, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

Cooks will join an offensive by the Cowboys that will see him on the depth chart as the No. 2 Dallas receiver alongside wideout CeeDee Lamb.
It’s a nice landing spot for Cooks, who throughout his career has learned the hard way how the business side of the NFL can evolve.
