Former Mamelodi Sundowns winger Anthony Laffor is part of the team trying to orchestrate Bafana Bafana’s downfall.

Laffor is now a technical team member of his native Liberia national side who are currently in South Africa.
Liberia meet Bafana at Orlando Stadium on Friday evening in a Caf Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Just like Bafana, Liberia need to win both away and at home against Bafana to stand any chance of making the final list of teams going to Ivory Coast in January.
“I’m now part of the Liberia football technical team,” said Laffor in an interview with SAfm’s Sport On on Thursday.
“Part of my role is to vet coaches and players who are in the national team. I was also with the Under-17s before coming here with the senior team,” added Laffor.
“I’m happy to be involved with the national team. When they heard I was back in the country, they immediately roped me in.
“I believe I have a lot to offer with my experience. We have a team who can beat South Africa. We have a new coach who plays possession football,” he said.
Laffor spent most of his professional career in South Africa having started at Jomo Cosmos in the early 2000’s.
He moved on to have successful stays at SuperSport United and Mamelodi Sundowns.
Laffor happy to be back in SA
When he left Sundowns, he joined Chippa United for a few months.
But after that things went south for him and was at some point in court with a bank trying to seize and auction his house.

“It’s good to be back in South Africa because I still have a house here, and my kids go to school here.
“It was great catching up with the likes of Themba Zwane today, I also saw Percy Tau and Thapelo (Morena). Even the coach Helman Mkhalele…”
Laffor says he has technically retired and he is now waiting for a special ceremony to honour him before he officially calls it a day.
“I can now say that I have retired. But it will be official later this year because the president wants to do something special for me in Liberia.”
The president of Liberia is former AC Milan and Fifa Ballon D’Or winner George Weah.
