Hudson’s first film role was in the 1982 film Penitentiary II, starring Leon Isaac Kennedy. He has had small roles on television shows such as The Dukes of Hazzard and The A-Team. In the first season of the TV show Fantasy Island, he played a voodoo man named Jamu. Hudson is best known for his role as Winston Zeddemore, who joins the Ghostbusters in the 1984 film Ghostbusters and its 1989 sequel. He also tried for the role in the animated series The Real Ghostbusters, but Arsenio Hall got it instead. He played Solomon, the mentally handicapped handyman, in a major supporting role in The Hand that Rocks the Cradle (1992).
