Joseph Adorno, a boxer from Puerto Rico, and his brother emulate Father Anibal

Joseph Adorno, a Puerto Rican boxer, is now being searched by millions of people around the world in anticipation of his fight in ShoBox New Generation on September 9th, 2022 to be held at Bally’s Events Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Hugo Alberto Roldan will challenge Adorno in a 10-round junior welterweight bout for “ShoBox: The New Generation.” Adorno’s previous fight against a strong lightweight competitor named Michel Rivera ended in defeat (Showtime). Shinard Bunch, who was due to face Roldan but had to pull out due to personal reasons, has just been replaced by the former amateur star.

Adorno suffered his fourth consecutive loss to Rivera in the deciding game of a difficult stretch that began in 2020, during which he dropped all three of his previous fights. In January 2020, he fought and drew Hector Garcia Montes. Four months later in April, he fought and drew against Jamaine Ortiz, who was undefeated at the time before Rivera demolished him at Showtime.

Adorno overcame his loss to Rivera to win six-round bouts against rookies Juan Santiago and Roberto Almazan Monreal in May and July, respectively. Both fights were scheduled for six rounds. On Friday, Adorno will have his best chance to show he’s improved as a player since his defeat in March last year.

Anibal Adorno, the boxer’s father, was Joseph Adorno’s trainer and manager throughout his career

The tall fighter, now 23, has a habit of mimicking his father’s every nuanced move and then practicing it until he remembers it. Joseph Adorno used to clench his small fists in anger and throw them in the air as he sat ringside and watched his father Anibal compete as an amateur boxer. Anibal Adorno was Joseph’s father.

Then, all of a sudden, things started to be different. Anibal threw away all his awards and honors. A tragic incident resulted in Anibal losing sight in one eye, adding to his resentment towards the world. Because of this, Adorno’s father, Anibal, assures his son daily that he will do whatever it takes to help Adorno achieve the success in boxing that he has always desired.

The Puerto Rican boxer readily admits it’s acceptable to him because his dad is trying to live his dreams through him. His father tries to live out his ambitions through him. He is willing to admit that he is trying to have a good career in boxing in order to achieve the goals of himself and his father.

Jeremy Adorno, Joseph Adorno’s brother, and Joseph Adorno himself, are both boxers in the professional ring

Both 23-year-old Joseph and his 21-year-old brother Jeremy are boxers promoted by Top Rank. Her father, Anibal Adorno, is also her coach. Anibal always hoped that one of his boys would follow in his footsteps and become a boxer and that they would enjoy the same professional success that he did not.

Joseph is a professional weightlifter who currently holds a record of 14-0-1 with 12 knockouts. With a record of 156-22 and multiple wins in amateur tournaments, he has established himself as a prominent amateur boxer over the course of nearly 200 bouts in the sport.

The weightlifter was a thirteen-time national champion and also held titles in Silver Gloves, Ringside, and Junior Olympic competitions. The current world champion, Shakur Stevenson, was twice defeated by him when they were both amateurs.

Similarly, his brother Jeremy, who competes at super bantamweight, has a record of 4-0 with a knockout. Jeremy was a member of USA Boxing and competed in amateur boxing competitions. He was victorious in more than a hundred fights. In addition, the 2017 bantamweight won the USA Boxing Youth National Championships as well as the Ringside World Championships and the National Silver Gloves.
