Hours long water disruptions expected in Olympus and Pretoriusrand

The residents of Olympus could experience water interruption on Tuesday, March 28 due to the maintenance of the water supply network in the area.

Metro spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said that essential work is planned for nine hours from 08:00 to 17:00.

“The water supply interruption will be avoided at all costs, however, should it occur certain areas will be affected,” Mashigo said.

List of areas that might be affected:

– Boardwalk ext 0, 1, 2, 4, 5, 9, 15, 20 and 21

– Boardwalk Manor

– Boardwalk Meander

– Boardwalk Villas ext 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5

– Bronberg ext 0, 1, 2, 6, 8, 10, 14, 17, 18, 22, 25 and 26

– Faerie Glen ext 78 and 80

– Olympus AH

– Olympus Boulevard

– Olympus ext 1

– Tweefontein 372-JR

Unrelated maintenance will also take place at Pretoriusrand Reservoir and residents might experience water interruptions.

The water supply disruption on this day could last up to eight hours, from 08:00 to 16:00.

Mashigo said the metro will also carry out upgrades to the water supply network at Pretoriusrand Reservoir on farm Knopjeslaagte 385-JR along London Avenue.

“The City apologises profusely for the inconvenience that may be caused by the above-mentioned upgrading work,” Mashigo added.

The areas that might be affected in Pretoriusrand are:

– Olievenhoutbosch ext 15, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 36, 37 and 38

– Rua Vista ext 17, 18 and 19

The following businesses may also be affected:

– Bathabile primary school

– Olievenhoutbosch primary school

– Olievenhoutbosch Christian school

– Seshego primary school

– Olievenhoutbosch community centre

– Seshegong secondary school

– Olievenhoutbosch Plaza

– Steve Tshwete secondary school

– Olievenhoutbosch police station

– Walter Sisulu primary school
